How do you wire six 4ohm dvc subs to 1ohm?How do you wire six 4ohm dvc subs to 1ohm? one of my 15" L7's has a strange rattle sound @ high volumes but only on certain low freq and their still pretty new so dont understand so i was gonna replace the both of them with six 12" hifonic subs , do you think the six 12's(300rms each) will produce more spl than the two 15"L7's? You can get 1.33, but not 1. The power difference out of a 1 ohm amp going from 1 to 1.3 will be very very minor. Auto parts : Motor And Transmission Mount Acura 1995 . Mud Flaps Alfa Romeo 1996 . Every year my family goes to Spain for 6 weeks in the summer, my question is, can I fly them there? I know that I CAN, but would there be any difficulties really? I'm asking this because my parents dont trust me and think I wont be any good "until I get experience"... despite having about 60 hours flying time by the time I get my licence... :P So like border control issues? Jaguar . How to Check a Delphi Car BatteryDelphi is one of three major automotive battery manufactures. Delphi not only sells batteries under its own label, but also ACDelco and EverStart. It's smart to check your Delphi battery's voltage output regularly to be sure it's strong. You can't rely on the alternator to continue charging a battery once it's passed its peak, and a jump start only lasts a short while. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Voltmeter Step by Step : 1 Pop the hood of the car and prop it up. Don't crank the engine during the test, otherwise the voltmeter will read the voltage of the alternator instead of the battery. 2 Attach the voltmeter leads to the battery. Connect the positive lead to the positive battery post and the negative lead to the negative battery post. The positive post on the battery is red and is marked with a "+" sign. 3 Turn the voltmeter on and check the reading. A healthy Delphi battery should read between 12.5 and 12.8 volts. Anything less is an indication of a weak battery, in which case you should take the battery to your local auto part dealer for further testing. Tips & Warnings Crank the engine if you want to check your alternator as well. The reading on the voltmeter should be between 13.6 and 14.3 volts. Be careful when handling a battery. Wear gloves, and check for acid spills. Apply baking soda to neutralize acid spills.
Jaguar . How to Check Car Battery Cables With an OhmmeterAn ohmmeter is an electrical device that measures the flow of electrical current that passes through an electric resistance. It has an electronic circuit that passes constant current through the resistance and another circuit that measures the voltage across the resistance. You can use an ohmmeter to check your car battery cables to determine if they are corroded or not. This will rule out whether your car battery is to blame or just the cables if you're experiencing no-start issues with your vehicle. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Steel wool Shop ragSuggest EditsItem AddWhy is it necessary?Done Step by Step : 1 Clean the battery cables with steel wool. Wipe off the cables with a shop rag to remove any corrosion on the surface. If you don't remove the corrosion, your ohmmeter reading may be wrong. 2 Turn on the ohmmeter. The ohmmeter's indicator should stop on zero. 3 Connect the two ohmmeter probes to the battery poles. Attach the red probe onto the positive pole of the battery. Place the black probe on the negative pole. 4 Check the measurement on the ohmmeter. If the measurement shows higher than 1, then your battery cables must be replaced. Tips & Warnings The ohmmeter probes must be fully attached to the cables to get a correct reading. Wear goggles when working around a car battery. Suggest item Thanks for suggesting an item. *The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) advises, "If your home is connected to a sanitary or municipal sewer system, household quantities of antifreeze can be flushed down the drain with plenty of water." The EPA warns that antifreeze can overwhelm the organisms in your septic system, damaging the system, and suggests that if your wastewater goes into a septic tank, you should dispose of antifreeze in a sanitary sewer system. The organization cautions, "Do not pour antifreeze into storm sewer openings, sinkholes, or abandoned wells." EH If your engine boils over, be sure to clean up the spill wherever you are. Wild animals are just as vulnerable to being poisoned by coolant as domestic pets are. Finding Leaks in the Cooling System In addition to keeping the water and coolant level where it needs to be, you can prevent trouble by keeping an eye out for leaks and replacing old or damaged hoses. Figure 14-4 shows the common trouble spots in the cooling system — the places where you should check for coolant leaks. The following sections give you a few pointers on what types of coolant leaks to look for, and the section "Repairing Leaks in the Cooling System" tells you what to do if you find them. If you see liquid, stick your finger in it and smell it. If it's coolant (green, red, blue, orange, or rust colored), look around the parts of the car that are over the puddle and feel around for wetness. If you're not sure what the stuff that's leaking out of your vehicle is, see Chapter 20 for an easy way to locate, troubleshoot, and deal with leaks of all types, including oil, transmission fluid, and brake fluid. '>art'"" ^eeP'n9 ^our ^ar m Good Condition, System by System Check the radiator Look around your radiator for whitish deposits or rust-colored stains. These indicate old leaks that have dried. They may not be all that old; water tends to evaporate quickly on a hot radiator. If you find any, the "Radiator leaks" section later in this chapter tells you what to do. Also check the front end of the radiator to see whether the surface is befouled with dirt, leaves, and bugs. If so, remove them with a brush and a garden hose. ^ —-^ If your radiator catches a lot of debris, you can attach a piece of nylon window screen over the front surface with twist-ties to trap the stuff and keep it from getting stuck between the radiator fins. Ford E250 Cargo. * Check the radiator cap If you don't have a safety pressure cap, or if your vehicle overheats easily, the cheapest possible remedy is to buy a new safety cap or replace the rubber gasket in the cap you have. If you aren't sure, ask a mechanic to pressure-test your cap to see whether it's functioning properly. If you need a new one, give the salesperson the make, model, and year of your vehicle and check the pressure limits (psi) on the new cap against your owner's manual to make sure that you're buying the proper cap for the amount of pressure in your cooling system. Never let a service station you don't normally frequent hook you into buying a new radiator cap unless you make them pressure-test your old cap. You may want to have them test the new cap, as well. I've been sold a faulty new cap to replace a faulty old one! Check the hoses Regularly check all the hoses under the hood of your vehicle, whether or not you've been having trouble. For instant panic, there's nothing like having a hose burst while you're driving. If it's a radiator hose, the resulting shower of steam is frightening at best and dangerous at worst. If a vacuum hose goes, the sudden loss of vacuum can stop your car in the midst of traffic. Checking your hoses and replacing the funky ones before they leak can save your nerves and your pocketbook in the long run. If you find a hose that's soft and squishy, bulgy, hard or brittle, cracked, leaking, or marked with a whitish deposit where stuff has leaked and dried, replace it immediately, before it breaks. I show you how to do that in the section "Leaky hoses" later in this chapter. . Chapter 14: Keeping Your Car from Getting Heartburn If you find a hose that is collapsed when the engine is cold but springs back when you remove the radiator pressure cap, the cap or coolant recovery Jaguar .
